Jon McGregor is to be part of an event which is bringing literature to museums all over the UK from tomorrow to 20 May. He’ll be going aboard Dundee’s Discovery Point to give a very special performance as part of Museums at Night 2012. More details here.

After being published in the US, Jon McGregor’s new book has just been chosen as book of the week by Oprah. As well as being reviewed on the Oprah Books landing page, This Isn’t the Sort of Thing That Happens to Someone Like You will be placed in the Oprah Book Club newsletter which reaches 1.4 million readers each week. For Oprah, “each tale in this slim, elegant book does something most of us wish would happen to us in real life: It stops us in a humdrum moment and reveals how that small, unnoticed sliver of time can illuminate an entire life.” Read her full review here.

Voters send Jon to Discovery Point

After 21,000 votes, the results are now in for the Museums at Night Connect10 adventure. As part of the initiative which brings writers and artists together with some of the UK’s best galleries and museums, voters have decided that Jon should head to Dundee’s Discovery Point, the home of the first ship to take Captain Scott around Antarctica. Museums at Night 2012 runs from 18-20 May. Read more here.
