In 2004, Jon took part in the joint Arts Council England / British Antarctic Survey Writers & Artists Fellowship. This involved him spending 6 weeks on a research ship travelling between the Falkland Islands, South Georgia, and the Antarctic Peninsula. (It should have involved him spending one week on the ship and 5 weeks on the main research base at Rothera, but things didn’t quite go to plan).
